I understand being frustrated with repetitive discussions, but this kind of hostility isn’t helping anyone.

First of all, the test builds weren’t “removed” because of feedback — they were simply relocated so people wouldn’t confuse unstable shadow builds with the main version. That’s a communication issue, not a punishment for the community. Second, official game forums exist specifically for feedback, and feedback isn’t always going to be sugar-coated. When you release a public test build labeled as "unstable" and "experimental," you should expect strong reactions; that’s a fundamental part of the development process.

While I don’t support mindless insults toward the developer, dismissing all criticism as “crying” is just as unproductive. If many players are asking for legacy controls, it’s worth asking why. I’ve been playing since Voices of the Void Pre-Alpha 0.7.0 (Mar 11, 2024), and for me, the old controls feel more natural and responsive. That’s not a "fear of change" — it’s preference shaped by hundreds of hours of muscle memory. A toggle option harms no one and accommodates different playstyles, which is simply good design.

Furthermore, while the game is free to download, the developer receives significant financial support through Patreon, with an estimated monthly income of around $25k. This places him among the most successful independent creators on the platform. When a community promotes and financially supports a project at this level, it’s reasonable for them to expect their feedback to be heard. People aren't demanding perfection; they are asking for options. That’s engagement, not entitlement.

Finally, telling people to “go lay down in traffic” over a discussion about video game controls is absolutely unhinged. I’m writing this from Russia — specifically from a place where active combat is happening. Even with my life being far from easy right now, I would never tell someone on the internet to harm themselves over a disagreement. If you think inciting self-harm is a normal way to communicate, you should probably crawl back to 4chan or 2ch. That kind of edge-lord behavior has no place in a functional community. Grow up.
