Another "Comment Needs Moderation" Complaint

This is a seemingly common complaint, but I wanted to post this because I'm tired of waiting for a response. This is the automated email i got: Your request (339519) has been received and is being reviewed by our support staff.

Thanks in advance :)

Oh! No Time To Play, please! Me too!!! Please!

I’ve left comments under several games, and each time I see a message saying that my comment must be approved by a moderator due to community rules or my account’s behavior. I only started actively using my account recently. I created it a long time ago just for logging in, but began using it properly only about a two weeks ago, after uploading my first game prototype.

Over the past weeks, not a single one of my comments has appeared on the site.

Now I see a message saying that my account is supposedly compromised.

That is not the case. Or at least, it is no longer the case.

I do care about security (especially recently). I have enabled two-factor authentication, changed my password, linked my GitHub account, and taken other steps to secure the account.

Thank you! This means a lot to me. I’m very grateful!

Sorry if I flooded you with messages a little. I saw an opportunity, grabbed it, and wrote to you everywhere I could find you.

I’ll try to be a bit more patient now.
Thank you again!

Look like it fixed! Thanks!

no time you can do that? its been 4 to 5 months now can you let them know about me aswell please?

Moderator(+1)

Sure, if you post your ticket ID here like you see everyone doing and like the rules say.

Also why does every comment need approval even if it's from accounts who haven't done anything wrong? I don't know much about moderating but I feel like this message should only pop up for people who actively broke rules right? I might be completely wrong though lol so please let me know

* Also also it seems like this problem doesn't happen for everyone, because others still comment on posts without any issues, so is there something that these specific accounts are doing something different?

(+1)

Same here =(
I don't know why it's happening with mine too.

Oh! I've just posted commet without "you need be moderated" stuff! I will try do some comment under a game!

UPDATE: Nope, still need to be approved =(

(+2)

YEAH. Why?! I haven't done anything wrong. Yet it seems like instantly I just have this issue?

JustALittleBird, may be that would help ya https://itch.io/post/15395073

I have the same problem,  bro did you find any solution?

(+1)

Teaminds got it to work, you can check https://itch.io/post/15395073 like they said earlier, which is a list of things you can do to potentially make it work again. I've tried a few of them and haven't seen results yet, but hopefully you might

I have a feeling we're going to be waiting for a while

I hope it will happen before my next project release… and I’m not even close so far 🙂

(+1)

Look like mine is fixed - at least I can make comment under games =) Hope yours too

(+2)

I don’t know why exactly I was unblocked, but here’s what I did:

  1. I tried to fill out my profile as much as possible (avatar, name, billing address, tax information, etc.).
  2. I linked a card and made a few purchases (a couple of SNES-style JRPG asset packs).
  3. I changed my password.
  4. I enabled two-factor authentication.
  5. I linked my GitHub and social media accounts.
  6. I contacted support (they didn’t reply).
  7. I wrote in this thread (including my support ticket numbers), and a kind moderator, No Time To Play, forwarded my situation to support again.
  8. In my messages to support, I explained that I had taken care of security (new password, two-factor authentication, linked GitHub) and also mentioned that my IP address might “jump” due to technical specifics of my internet connection (which is true, though I won’t go into details here — but I described everything honestly to support).

I don’t know which of these steps actually helped, but maybe this will help someone else.
