You're welcome, and yeah the part about it conjuring up items, that doesn't exist in the player's inventory, if I remember right, is either a bug or very un-intuitive behavior at least of YEP_ItemCore, related to the indepedant Item stuff in there, or something like that, quite a while since I actually looked at that in details, so could be misremembering stuff. Regardless, it is easily bypassed, by wrapping the change Equipment command in a conditional, that checks if the item exist, if the idea is simply to equip it, if it does exist in the players inventory.
(All this knowledge I have of the engine, basically comes, mainly, from modding "Odyssey of Gianna"(another TF game), made by Vhiel, at a pretty deep level)
