It was always nice to see puzzle games in a jam. I know these things are hard to get right, and I'll appreciate anyone who does one in any jam. period. The gimmick is really nice and cool, especially when the level changes according to what season it's currently in. This added a lot of depth to the puzzles. If only the execution were to be a bit better, it would certainly be an excellent game! The game currently (or at least for my machine) suffers quite a bit from inconsistencies, where the day counter and seasons would randomly pause, leading to desync between ball movement and time progress. I still managed to complete all 15 levels, but sometimes I am not sure if it was just plain luck or not.
Other things I like:
- Intro and outro sequences. It's rare to see one in a jam, so this alone deserves kudos
- Difficulty progresses nicely, with gradual introduction of puzzle mechanics
- Nice graphics
Suggestions:
- Consider a preview toggle for the level layout of each season, as well as how long it took for seasons to change
- Line could be joined instead of separated blocks, which should reduce the effort of visualising the setup, especially at a glance
- A diagram of season icons would be nice. I very oftenly mixed spring and summer up, and that adds to the confusion when planning the solutions
Anyway, I totally understand the effort of creating a system like this, and I'd say despite all the issues, this is already quite nicely done. Good job!
