I have exactly one complaint: missed opportunity to use @ as the player action as an homage to early ASCII rpgs (Angband, Rogue, (Net)Hack)

Think the earliest versions of computer RPGs. If you ever hear the term "Rogue-like" its referring to the same Rogue game I mentioned. They were top down maps with ASCII characters (keyboard symbols) used for graphics. In all of them, the symbol for the player characters was @
