So, 8 options of 26 letters. Then 8 options of coloring each letter. Do that 3 times and you get 648 "objects" (if I understand this right at least). With 27 slots to chose, you use 648 as N, and 27 as R.  Doing it again, I got a different answer, but it's bigger. So... take that for what you will.

I see, and that's not even counting the position/rotation of the letters and that one letter can have multiple colors!
