hmmmm, I may be disqualified

my game has a  gaijin getting lost in inaka japan and following shinto folklore and edo era toshidensetsu at a ryokan in the middle of nowhere. When I made it I had a sense of being a traveler in mind in japan in mind as I have lived there for 17 years on and off. Hence when I saw a travel based jam that was totally ok with me using AI to help me code as I deal with severe dyslexia and adhd and have only been able to fully figure out renpy and python due to the fact that AI can point to my errors line by line I was really excited to join! But I later went back and realized how much i had blanked out on all the qualifiers and I am unsure if i properly meet what is needed to join. I later switched out gaijin to okyakusama to better allow anyone feel like the main player but I am unsure if that still feels as much like a fish out of water situation. Nonetheless if i am disqualified i still want to thank you for making this little jam that is open to those of us who struggle with the management of coding on our own and the concept is very nice too.

Hey unrested thanks for your comment! Don't worry about all the rules - as long as you had fun making it that's what counts. I'll be pretty lenient on what games qualify as it's my first time running a jam too, and I may have included too many restrictions, as long as your jam generally fits the theme of travelling I think you'll be fine.

There really isn't a prize for winning other than the livestream of the top games, and since so far there are only a few submissions, I'll probably end up streaming all of them. I permitted AI usage for coding only because I wanted the main focus of your time to be on your creativity, not being frustrated spending hours or days fixing some mysterious bug.

ahhh! thanks! any sort of signal boost of these tiny  games made by small devs is a prize in itself. Congrats on your first jam though! Getting the word out must be difficult for something like this. I only know that from having tried to raise awareness myself of events on my own youtube channel. That said if it would help I would be happy to broadcast the time and day of your livestream on my own channel. I can stream with my viewers beforehand and then we can end the stream and raid yours to add more participation. Also if you plan on doing another jam in the future let me know and Ill advertise it on my own channel as well. If you are making the effort to arrange a jam and then promote the games by playing them live the least I can do is get eyes on your jam in the future to increase the entries.

That would be awesome, would definitely down to collaborate now and/or in the future!
I haven't announced a time yet, lets try to find  something more convenient for your timezone/schedule as well.

I think usually 5PM PST on Fri, Sat Or Sun would generally work best for all timezones. Would any of these days work for you?
Jan 16 17 18 23 24 25. I'll start my stream at 5PM PT, so you can stream beforehand at an earlier time.

Feel free to DM me on discord too if that's easier for coordinating.

jan 18th would be perfect! I usually stream at night here in florida EST sometimes around 7-8pm but if you want to stream later i can push it to 9pm or go earlier if need be as well. ill definitely DM you on discord later tonight so we can figure this all out.

Sounds good let's stream on Jan 18th then!

You can stream at your usual time (around 7PM Eastern time) that's fine with me.

7:00 PM Florida time (Eastern Time) = 4:00 PM California time  (Pacific Time, my timezone), So then I can start my stream at (your time 8PM, my time 5PM), (assuming that you stream for ~1hour).

Do you use twitch to stream?
Not sure how the raid will work if I'm using twitch and you're using youtube >_> but let's figure something out, maybe i can dual stream to both youtube and twitch or something.

Anyway, feel free to message me here or DM me on discord if you have any changes or suggestions. I'll announce everything on my discord once i get the thumbs up from you.

I do use YouTube but my viewers are totally fine to head over to twitch. But dual streaming would totally be a great solution too!

Sounds good, I'll just stream on YouTube only then to make things easy for you and your viewers, I don't want to risk doing a dual stream as I'm not sure I have enough bandwidth at the moment to pull that off without issues, will just focus on one high quality stream for now.

Here's the link to the stream, will start streaming in 10 mins:
