That moment in the storage room... it's been a long time since a jumpscare got me that bad, I actually shouted quite loudly (kinda worried I disturbed my neighbours).
I've had this game installed for a while and I am so glad I finally got around to playing it as this is FANTASTIC! I love task-based horror games and this gives you just enough steps to following to make it engaging without getting too confusing, I could have spent hours collecting and mixing those samples. The setting is really well made, even though we're stuck in this small space that window really gives you a sense of scale for this facility, and the use of that window for some of the scares was so brilliantly done. The atmosphere of the game was also fantastic, right from the start I felt very uneasy and that just kept growing with each sample collected. The sound design was extremely effective, and the fact that for a lot of the scares it wasn't immediately obvious where the sound was coming from added a lot to the tension; it made me feel like I had to go and look for them. Loved the design of the creature, the creepy mask and the spider-like legs immediately had me going 'nope'. I must admit the final jumpscare with it wasn't as effective as the other scares, mostly because it felt a bit weird to have to walk towards the creature rather than it coming at you as soon as it sees you, but the reveal of what's really happening and those final scenes still made for a fantastic conclusion.
Overall this is an amazing horror game, easily one of my new favourites and I'm definitely going to play it again sometime.
