This was the game I had the most fun in out of all the games this jam, by a large margin. My favorite aspect of the game was the poor control scheme and slow movement, which requires you to be meticulously prepared for the much faster and deadlier enemies. The combination of the two creates a great dynamic between you and the enemies, where you need to start thinking beforehand about where you want to aim against enemies that can catch you by surprise if you're not anticipating them. A lot of the mechanics help to slow down gameplay, like rewarding patience rather than spamming attacks to avoid the recoil.
There wasn't anything that stood out as outright bad; they'd just be nitpicks, but there are a few things that I think could have been done better. I think the inventory should have been limited to just 4 slots instead of 6, especially during the snake room. It'd make the player think more about what items they should carry, should they carry only a few keys and keep the weapon and healing items, or should they just book it with all the keys? Another thing would be a slightly better tutorial, text on the floor is slightly hard to read, and it limits the amount of words you have to explain things. I'd suggest having an actual journal button that shows you all the info you have, like controls, scans, etc.
I could talk more about purposefully hiding information, the pacing, the enemies, the atmosphere, and everything else that I liked, but this is getting too long. This is a great game, it's the one I liked best out of all the jam submitions, thank you for making it! :D
