I don't want to be rude but the boss is too hard and boring to play because the player can't hit airborne, combat feels really slow with a stutter stop experience as you have to jump over the clouds and then land to hit (with accompanied slow animation) before a hand hits you speaking of which they attack way to quickly with little telegraphing especially as most of the time Your character is over them so you can't really see what they are doing. Btw you need like 200 oil to last the fight as the rapier (I'm assuming is the strongest weapon with the most range) doesn't do much damage so the fight devolves to a slug feast; hoping the extreme tick rate clouds don't insta-kill you while the hands make you one shot so being grabbed means death and they knock you over for the clouds to get you and making hit-and-runs consist of one hit before dodging clouds for 30 seconds so the bar doesn't max out and then rinse repeat. Did I mention? That the arena is really small with no head space to try and play vertical and make dodging the clouds harder without taking status so the wait to empty curse bar takes longer, oh you can't see anything anyway cause 5 oil is gone in like 45 seconds so better have 100+ before you start (you will have to farm bats) to have the pleasure of beating this fight. (After hitting mushrooms for 5 mins to start the fight in the first place)

I know most players will just get all the unique bad endings before just leaving cause the weapon reward isn't worth it because by and large combat in general is worse than running from an enemy as your character is too squishy to survive more than one fight and it provides no real reward or gratification to the player to participate in. However as this is the case having a boss fight (with possibly more to come later down the pipeline) in the game's stage of development doesn't work without smoother movement, more attack options/movesets for each weapon, a proper dodge roll with invincibility frames, and consumables like for health or status resistance/clear up.

I really like this game and have been watching the progress on it for a long time and want it to succeed and get better but right now I didn't even finish a third of the fight as nothing was really happening. I don't intentionally want to be rude or mean about this OR besmirch the beautiful work put into this game but speaking candidly this fight isn't fun right now and if major improvements aren't made I will be skipping any and all future fights even if that means missing out on new and delicious content.

thanks for the feedback. there's a few thing I would like to point out. the weapon you where using isn't actually the best for the fight, in my testing, I found that quicker weapons like the knife tended to be a lot better of a tool to use. the boss has less of a damage type resistance to the knife as well. it partially on me. I show the bosses resistances in the bestiary, but I don't display the damage the weapons' do anywhere. its also not mandatory to use the lantern in this fight as the ambient lighting in the arena was put there to make fighting it without it viable. the carrot rings speed boost may also help. as for the spore clouds, there meant to pull the player closer to the boss. I didn't want them to be too punishing, so the hitbox around them is pretty generous if you try dodging them. to an extent your right about a lot of problems the game currently has. I need to make the movement a bit smoother, give a way of using healing items, and I do plan on adding a dodge as a power up at some point. again I appreciate the feed back and ill see what I can do to improve things in the future.
