The progressive difficulty felt well done to me. The last waves are quite hard, but after a second run it becomes much more manageable. I ended up making things harder for myself by trying to gather the presents together, which left them more exposed.
If you get the chance to try my game again, I’d really appreciate it, as I noticed you were one of the early players who got stuck in the first part.

Yes the game is designed to be played more than once in order to try to beat your high score, and you can try different strategies and techniques for making your fort each time. I realise this doesn't always work for gamejams since people only really play a game one time haha, so it's cool you ended up having a second go. I did try playing your game again as you can see.
