Yes, Kaizen was talking about that scene in the restaurant. Then you went on to explain what a rumor is and said "It's not a fact" so I sought to correct that.

Y'know, because it is a fact.

But yeah, at that point in time it was unknown. However, it was still mentioned. Also I'm guessing Yuka recounted the flashback word for word so technically both of you know she said "Dangerous people pay to sleep with me" when she saved your sister.

It was actually MC and Yuka who had the doubts and assumed she was simply saying that to scare off the other girls. Chika herself however was honest the entire way through. When she confirmed it later on, it's because she knew you had doubts about what she herself said being true.

Also, that's not exactly something that needs buildup. She said it in a natural situation. Y'know, girls being toxic to other girls about who the latter slept with.

That gets it out of the way, and gives a little insight about why she feels the need to stay away from other people.

And then clearing up lingering confusion and misunderstanding.

Players are actually upset about the fact she's a "main girl" that you can "pursue" and a prostitute.

And some even claim that they didn't know until after the h scene. Which you know isn't even correct.

I feel like I'm repeating myself man. Just read my comment from 3 months ago, I believe I explained it better there. But I guess I'll try again (again) (again).

It's BOTH. She's a main girl who isn't initially portrayed as a prostitute. The rumors only appear FROM HER AND ONLY HER, so when she eventually says she's a prostitute (and it's then made 100% irrefutable shortly after when she exits a love hotel.) people are disappointed, frustrated, angry, devastated, etc.  The buildup would've softened the blow, substantially, hence why I say it's necessary.

IF the rumors were propagated throughout the game as conversations you either have or overhear, then people would begin to deduce something, they'd begin to piece things together and make their own deductions about it. Once again repeating myself, THE RUMORS ARE ONLY TALKED ABOUT BY CHIKA HERSELF. So when she confirms the rumors ALMOST IMMEDIATELY AFTER INTRODUCING THEM and then SHE IS SEEN EXITING A LOVE HOTEL (making her confirmation 100% irrefutable) that's going to upset people.

Here's an example that's mildly exaggerated (replace 20+ hours with 5 to 10+ hours to remove the exaggeration): You pursue a specific love interest's route in a VN throughout the entire game. She's, in your opinion, the hottest character in the game. Then after almost 20+ hours of gameplay, picking all the right options, and dealing with all her trauma/story, you finally get the option to ask her out, so you do. She then proceeds to tell you that she isn't interested because she's 100% a lesbian and has absolutely no interest in men. Surely this is false, right? About 10 minutes of gameplay later, she then introduces you to her girlfriend and actively makes out with her in front of you. You are COMPLETELY DISAPPOINTED and FEEL LIKE YOUR TIME HAS BEEN WASTED. You spent HOURS of your life getting invested in this characters story, only to then have your hopes shattered when she randomly reveals something that completely changes her character, frustrated you replay the ENTIRE GAME and find ZERO CLUES TO HER IDENTITY.

(If you find "lesbian" to not be a valid example and as such it hinders your understanding, then replace the word "lesbian" with ANY OTHER CHARACTER TRAIT THAT WOULD RUIN SAID CHARACTER FOR YOU. For example: replace "lesbian" with "has a penis" or something else)

Does that example help you understand why people are mad? Or should I just give up completely? Also, once again, I recommend reading my comment from 3 months ago as it is sufficiently better written as I was not moderately upset from repeating myself nor was I sick (got the flu, but it's basically gone now).

Wow man. Screaming. Once again, it was mentioned when she was first introduced. Usually in a story whenever a character like her is introduced, they arent lying. That being said, during my personal playthrough, every interaction I had with her, I had that claim in mind. Sure were there doubts? A little. But I didn't put my money on "Oh yeah they're just rumors."

The more interactions she had, the more I learned about her, the more certain I was that it was true.

That's how it was for me. And when she finally revealed it, it was more of a "I mean I already knew that this whole time, but I still want to help you. This isn't all about sex."

Not sure how no one else had that thought process but then again, you're correct. They wouldn't see that or think that, or analyze mc's interactions with her that way because they're all gooners first, rational human beings second. Just saying. No need for the screaming, I just find it odd they all simply brushed that off then got mad that they THEMSELVES decided to brush off a fact that was increasingly obvious as time goes on.

Also, skill issue. There were definitely clues. In the way she acted. The way she held herself. What she would say, and the fact she was so reserved. A lot of which I mentioned in my first response. It wasn't out of nowhere, and it actually had decent buildup. If you couldn't see that build up, then like I said, skill issue.

Sure even if you can argue they didn't know before that scene at mc's apartment, the sex scene still only came as a drunken impulsive offering of sex RIGHT after she literally admits it. Which shows they didn't read it, then proceeded to get upset when they saw her leaving the hotel. Also they should realize that sex, free sex, doesn't mean the girl owes you full exclusivity. Perhaps you should get to know her better AND THEN talk about being exclusive. Or hell, help her to get out of that life? Y'know like the game was getting you to do? Cus it also wasnt even a spontaneous "I don't wanna be with you"

It had always been "I'm not interested in a relationship with you, I actually don't really want to be with you" and it's not at the stage where ANYONE could really think "I picked all the right answers" cus all the "right answers" as of yet have led to you being seen more as a FRIEND. You only met her a week before the end of that chapter as well man, tf.

Truly decent people woulda rejected the sex offering, went to check on her after seeing her at the hotel to see if she was alright, and continued onwards as her friend trying to help her get a better life.

Few things I wanna clarify. The ALL CAPS are meant as emphasis for important parts of my comments as I tend to struggle when it comes to properly explaining things, thus I put some words in CAPS, bold, underlined, italics, and whatever else I can do to emphasize their importance. Guess I should've used less caps in that  reply, my bad. In addition I happen to struggle with social cues, so I guess I'm sorry for not picking up on any subtleties in her conversations? And good for you for doing so. I'm proud of you for that. Pat yourself on the back for that too.

But even then half of that just... Isn't really buildup? She's reserved. So is every shy character, that doesn't mean they're all prostitutes. And the rest of that isn't really any indication either which makes me feel like it's a bit of a stretch. Those can all be descriptors of someone's personality, not exactly their role/job/occupation. That doesn't necessarily indicate/buildup to her being a prostitute. It instead builds up to her actual background (Abusive father, dead mother, bullied, etc)

And for clarifications sake, I declined that offer at the cost of missing a scene in the gallery but ehh whatever, can always replay and get it. And I do completely agree with those last few points though. The hate IS a bit extreme, especially when it isn't necessarily NTR, UNLESS you accept her offer. But then again, this IS an adult game. And USUALLY in adult games picking "yes" to sex IS the right option, unless it's something like "I'd like to stop here." So it's fair to assume that the people getting genuinely upset, made that same assumption and picked "yes" BECAUSE they though it was worth more than saying no. Also I in fact mentioned that the MC was more of a friend in a reply to Comfy Cherry 8 months ago. Around the time of the H-scene the MC is more of a close friend of Chika's, whether or not she really WANTS him to be. But he does know her whole situation/past AND wants to help her so the MC is basically making himself a close friend of hers (cause he genuinely wants to be)

Anyways, it looks like this has the potential to devolve into a string of endless insults instead of actual meaningful conversation so this is my final reply in this thread.

Except she's reserved not in a shy way. And nowhere did I say anything about her being reserved being telling of her occupation. I guess I coulda worded it better, but I had meant that it made her claim of being a prostitute more plausible the more you talked to her. She says certain things, acts certain ways, etc. And while those alone don't indicate "Oh hey look, a prostitute!"(That would be a very odd way to look at things), that stuff paired with the fact that she even mentioned it in the first place should be enough for you to consider that as a possible truth.

In fact if a character themselves says something about themself, occupational, personal, social, etc. the best thing to do is treat it as true, or as a huge possibility, until proven false. Not the other way around.

Then you can use that along with certain social cues, behaviors and anything else in order to further your reasoning to prove or disprove whether or not it might be true. And do that until you get to a point where you see the character in the act(So you wouldn't be so surprised) or they flat out just tell you and perhaps even present some proof. For example, her talking about her father. She's done that. Did that way before you talk to her after you see her leaving the hotel.

The information she gives you, about how she lives, what her dad does, etc. should've been even more of a reason to believe that it may be true. So yeah, there was a ton of buildup, cues, hints and her flat out saying it to let you know that maybe she really is a prostitute.

Cus obviously she's not just a prostitute cus she likes it. She kind of has to in her situation. Unless you thought she was lying to you about her dad? (Which can't even be a possibility since you literally see first-hand how her dad treats her in that scene right before she sees that the cat followed her home and you offer to let her walk under your umbrella). That being said, as I've said before, tons of cues and hints to the fact she could be a prostitute.

We have:

- Rumors (Not hard proof but that's a start.)

- Behavioral Cues

- Situational Cues

- Circumstantial Cues

- Her literally saying it

And more. To say there was no buildup is just.. incorrect.  It wasn't sudden. It was a "show, don't tell" kinda situation.
