postin again... yea this game could be somethin special for sure, dont know what your intent is for difficulty but the divide between daily jobs for living expenses and big ticket opportunities for debts and so on feels good. I played DoL for a bit myself, and aside from having way too much straight up rape to be enjoyable, a regularly scheduled huge weekly payment just felt demoralising, and the possibility of unexpected expenses and desireable upgrades in this game is great.
In this game I had the opportunity to sell my eyes to a rich guy for 5k, which I took right away. They were replaced with synth eyes of the exact same type, but the way the UI said they weren't my original eyes really sat with me and I couldn't stop thinking about wanting to get them back, it's a really intimate and relatable kind of body horror that the synth form allows for.
After that I got into some tight spots and needed to pay a couple of huge repair bills because I just can't say no when a synth goes missing. I was playing a non-gendered ex combat bot who was trying to afford enough parts to choose a gender, and even with the current amount of content I would have kept playing past the cut off point to try and achieve that.
The sense of having to choose to take desperate actions to survive in a hostile urban environment really captures something of a game idea I've been trying to make for a while, and makes decisions feel like they have meaningful and lasting consequences instead of just feeling like I'm constantly bouncing back fine from a never ending cascade of trauma like in some other games.
good work!
