Looks like the game has been abandoned, "The Wild Within" seems to be its successor and has been getting quite a few updates this year.
I am sure that Foxyghost has other things to do in their live than working on this game all the time and might be working on bigger update to give us more to enjoy when it comes out.

Actually they been doing updates on Patreon mostly.Their latest update from there was at Dec 11.So i'm sure they're still working hard on the game, they just not yet made an update for the itch version.
