Lots of branches. Lots of foliage and conifers. It's comfortable to sleep. Or sit and think about something or dream. The hare is a dreamer. He sits and thinks about all sorts of things.
About how winter turns into summer. How after winter comes spring. And then there's autumn. The world around us changes so much. It becomes very interesting to explore everything. And to notice all these changes. Some friends go to sleep for the whole winter. You can't even play with them all.
And it gets hot. You can run out into the field, there's snow. And you can sit at the very edge of the forest. I wonder if it's day or evening. You can't always tell right away. It's a quiet time. There's no one around. You sit in the field. At the edge of the forest. And you look around. You look far, far away. But, as a rule, you don't see anything new. It's like this every day. Everything will change in the spring. There will be so many different things. But for now, everything is so monotonous and calm.
You can go visit the fox. The fox is always busy with something. Scurrying all over the field here and there. You can run and play. It won't be boring. You can write a letter to the crow. The crow will fly back and then read it. He's also a cheerful winter friend. Birds live in the forest. In a different place. There are even many of them.
Winter is such a strange and wonderful time. There are so many new things to see. All sorts of things you've never seen before. Here the hare sits and thinks about all this. But, of course, he can go and play with the other animals. That's something too!
