I guarantee you there are replication workflows using the room save method, which results in quests not triggering correctly and CGs not loading.
It will never get resolved though because it is not an intended play style.
It is not recommended at all if you want to see everything the game has to offer. But as you mention you can do so at your own risk.
It needs to be highlighted though, if you do this the developer or mods are not going to assist you in the mess you create 😅
No plans for a NG+ way of playing, that might change, but none as of now. Although the one thing that might happen is keep increasing simplicity of play. For example, the new trait system will allow for the player to pic a specific trait from the get go, so in cases like Amelia, you wont need to do all the Phoenix trainings for the trait.

Context - The current grind is good for a first time playthrough imo, but if you want to see other outcomes in a second to 50th playthrough, I can understand the eyeroll at the multiple tasks and waiting days. For reference games like Love & Sex: Second Base by Andrealphus handles new game plus really well with picking extra traits and money in your pocket at the start.
