Awesome game
You are my inspiration to get into making horror games
but i really do need some guidance
how did u learn all the technical stuff(this question might sound repeated but all i meant was not falling into the tutorial hell and actually making something)
i have great game ideas and all but i cant seem to tackle the technical stuff such as programming
your insight would help a lot sir!
I'm self taught, so just learning from practice and reading documentation was my best bet. Construct 3 is easy for beginners but a little on the expensive side, and Unity is more complicated but 10x more powerful and free. Audacity is good for sound, if you can't make your own stuff than I suggest you use stock sounds. And for visuals if you are doing 3D then model with Blender, it's easy and there are literally tutorials for everything in it. If 2D then use gimp or something like that to make some stuff. I use IbisPaintX because it is just easy and I can do crap on my phone which is super efficient, along with a payed subscription to Pixlr, cheap and also efficient.
Hope this helped!
Well your tip definitely helped cuz I see the docs are written in a very nice way
Btw i use godot(cuz that's the only Engine I understand a bit)
Tutorials nowadays are really vague and don't get to the core of how a game actually works. Some of them do but they turn out to be super complicated for a complete beginner. I believe it's better to learn by making games so I think I'll just read the docs learn
I just wanted to know whether it's better to start with 2d or 3d
And is it ok as a beginner to learn by recreating your game 'Fear Assessment'?(I liked the style of the game)
How difficult u think it is? Or should I try recreating something else
Thank You!
