was this game updated? I was able to do the dupe before on the level 8, now it seems unclearable. shooting the marked when the next object is going to be marked just ends up cancelling the mark of the first object, instead of duping happening.

Yes I updated the game, sorry that was probably confusing, but the level is still clearable.
The change basically is: shooting a marked object will remove the mark instead of doing the swap, I also updated some of the messages to make stuff clearer
I believe this change removed a lot of complexity that was causing more bad experience than good one
