Great Descent: There is some interesting sound design in this track! The harsh overdriven sounds keep me on edge throughout and make me think that despite the beautiful sweeping pad harmonies, that there is a constant element of danger throughout.
Hubble Vision: This ambient piece is quite nice as a relaxed track that seems to serve as a menu theme or perhaps a central hub theme. The many bits of artificial sounds fluttering in and out make me think that we are capturing glimpses of alien life as the Hubble scans across the night sky. I really like this piece and I think it’s my favorite of your OST!
Hubble Vision Decision: I like the staticky effect at the beginning and it really helps convey that sense of caution. I really like the transition at the one minute mark and the hit with the thick pads and decayed snare follows so nicely. I think I was left hoping that there would be more of a purity to the sound after this drop, but I suppose the static/overdriven effect continues to serve the purpose of indicating there is uncertainty in the “decision” that needs to be made. Though I do like that there are glimpses of clarity later on that I enjoyed hearing!
Green Sludge Astral Space: The thick kick and bass with the rhythmic elements that have a sort of glooping effect give this space a grungy and dank feel that I think really describe an “astral sludge” area well. The sounds you use clearly convey a sense of decay - similarly I also like the ritardando that also gives the same feeling. The middle section without the percussion is my favorite part and I think it sort of represents the toxic clouds parting briefly so you get a little clarity of the beauty of the area despite its danger.
Overall these tracks have a consistent sound with an emphasis on heavy percussion and alien-like sound design that would give this game a unique and recognizable identity. I loved the pads you used and savored the moments when I could hear the rich harmonies you wrote as a focal point. Nice work with this and thank you for sharing!
