As this was recommended to me by you I will be giving my honest critique:
This game was great for the most part, I might have not shown that too much as I was still recovering from an annoying cold alongside one issue I will get to later.
Pros:
- The story was very unique, having to traverse a lake holding a dark history within it's deep abyss that eventually claims you as well is very interesting.
- The controls were also a chance of pace from other horror games I played, having to actually put in effort to move your boat around gives a more realistic approach.
Cons:
- I only have one and that is ironically the controls, as much as I do like them it was a chore to wrestle with the rowing. Trying to turn left whilst the game thinks I'm going right, going foward when I want to go backwards. I think you need to polish up that mechanic just a bit more. I'm just glad there wasn't any chase scenario, otherwise I would have likely not have uploaded lol...
Regardless you have something great here, just experiement more with the rowing mechanic.
