From Dr.Muramasa I am not sure it is anything to do with anyone not liking it and more to do with the fact River received a substantial amount of content in 1.7 and as they are not listed to heavily feature in 1.8 and we only have 2 major releases left (3 if you include the Steam release) I do not see much more content for River getting added. Though that is all up to the developer at the end of the day, heck in 1.9 River could end up getting a boob and dick job and become a Starmaker full on nymph with men pets, we can never truly know...
