Are you talking about Yekbun? Her? I mean.. Does Yekbun show any magical prowess? Do we actually see her perform magic? I haven’t gone back and read those scenes in a while, but I don’t think she does do any.. If she does, it’s definitely nothing to suggest she can manipulate the Void?

My real question is why you think Yekbun is the LEADER (much less a member) of the Followers of Virdana (or whatever the name of that twat is; it’s been a hot minute since I read AToC, sue me). Yekbun seems innocent enough to me, and she seems to have given us real and pretty valid information about our parents.. Can’t seem to find any hints of her be jealous or angry, either..

Dunno, pretty skeptical about that one there, friend. There’s always a chance that you’re right and I’m tweaking, you never know :]

Well I thought that the leader of the followers would be smart enough to hide their true motives. I might be a little delusional in thinking this though. I mean, it makes sense to me. She is trying to get on the crowns good side so she gets to know some inside information (if i was their leader, id be doing that).

Then again, I recognize how miniscule the possibility is but isn't that how plot-twists work. Tell me, if your friends found out the answer to a generational puzzle, that you too have been obsessed with, won't you feel hurt when they don't tell you? She might have just started out as a member, who knows?

Contradicting my own logic however, the story does mention that the crowns father met with her before he died, so that is another valid point proving my theory wrong. But it would be cool to see such dynamic in the story.
