About the “miss” issue, that’s actually a bug (or rather an unwanted mistake) not something I intended at all. I really don’t know why it keeps happening so often, but I’m working on fixing it. Combat has been the hardest part for me to balance, and I agree it still needs a lot of improvements.
The next update (0.4.0) will completely rework the whole system: new classes, new stats, new leveling, rebalanced enemies, and no more unfair stun/CC loops. So things should feel way better. You can see all the dev logs and progress in the Patreon page.
I appreciate you taking the time to comment, and I hope you’ll give the future updates a chance. I’m very aware of the issues and I’m working hard to make the combat much more enjoyable.
