Well, kind of... but as you see, I also tried to heavily theme the game around WAVES as much as possible.

I wanted to make this scrabble game, and didn't have any pure wave game ideas ( tower defense, surfing,...), so instead I've been spending almost every day creating and adding my own WAVES!

(W)e (A)ll (V)alue (E)nglish (S)crabble

PowerUps (special tiles)
CRIME WAVE ( allows you to get a letter from the board and replace it for a letter on your rack )
SHOCK WAVE ( allows you to place letters on the board over existing letters )
BRAIN WAVE ( allows you to swap a letter in your rack for a random letter from your sack )

WAVE modes
RadiO wave ( words must start with consonant and end with vowel )
SounD wave ( words must start with a consonant and end with a consonant )
ElectromagnetiC ( words must start with a vowel and end with a consonant )
EnergY ( words must start with a vowel and end with a vowel )

High Tide
During regular timed cycles (Minutes of the Hour), if waves are on the screen you can place floating words.

  0-1 5-10 25-35 45-50 50-54

I also added the ability to create your own private room board.  Also, in the regular rooms, when multiple people are in the same room, they are playing in real-time with each other.  I'm also recording all the words found for possible playback so someone can spectate the activity.

'Rad, thanks dude!'

Oh, and the Gravity Wave power allows you to use non-scrabble directions to spell words from Bottom-to-Top or Right-to-Left!

There is also the ability to choose either or all, English, Spanish or German dictionaries.

I hope the game is 'wave-worthy' and I'm 'stoked' to hear about any other comments or bug fixes!

Glad you had a chance to ride my WAVES game!  lol

Ohhhh okay i see. I have gone for surfing my self but i have added alot of lore into the game. Storys make games better in my opinion. Still a fun game tho. How much time have you been game developing exactly?

I just saw your surfing game video, looks like it would be great fun, I'm looking forward to trying it out.  Send/post the link so we can give it a try before the jam ends perhaps.  I've been a hobbyist for a long time, but only recently started making game jam games.  I've been going strong for the past several months.  Here's my link to all the recent jams I participated in: ( 7 jams in all ):
