I didn't do anything else, it was visible immediately after restarting.

Hi! Commenting on this thread because this same issue is happening with me - it took me a few tries to complete the witness statements, and then I clicked through the hammocks and have nothing appearing in my diary to continue. I'm going to try refreshing the page to see if that helps.
Edit: Refreshing helped! Just letting you know this bug is still a thing though
