Latest build is 0.9.5 from MoolahMilk's Patreon back in 2023 // technically, most itch.io games don't have an associated copyright so if you or someone you know wants to redo it, the only obstacle would be recreating the amount effort from the original developer.
Unless enforced via legal proceedings, most automatic world-wide copyright laws serve the same purpose as a 'Keep Out' sign in an open field. Yes, it is present and it could be enforced but it remains the prerogative of the original creator to do so and, with this game being long-term abandoned, it seems unlikely the original creator would try an enforce it. Especially if any remake is based on this work and isn't a one-for-one remake.
Not advocating for thieving IPs, just pointing out if someone enjoys the narrative/concept enough and wanted to put in the work, there'd be little standing in their way.
