Thank you Ann! I'm glad the switch to an OpenGL-based rendering made for a simpler Linux emulation. As for v8, I started working on it last year and released the first playable version of it for SAGE2024. You can read more about how that came around on the website's devlog, but to cut a long story short, the architecture used for v6 and before was beyond salvaging and so in the end I rewrote the game's backend more or less entirely from scratch throughout that year.
Thank you for your kind words and sticking with me. I'm sorry that the game has been untouched since, my focus shifted over to my writing endeavors and painting studies. The next phase of this project is a visual overhaul (the current sprite files are also a big mess) and I don't quite think I am ready for that just yet.
