Great stuff, very enjoyable. Loved the TV news, love the enemy callouts, love pretty much everything.

Couple of nitpicks:

  • Water and ground holes are instadeath, which is VERY painful on the street levels with many enemies, especially when you've cleared half of the map.
  • I wouldn't have realised that coolers could be opened. Needs some sort of indication, or maybe a tutorial that some objects are interactible.
  • Camera is a bit too close to the character. Bottom area is fine, but top area always felt like a bit of a blind spot. It's fine since monsters do callouts, but I still got caught off-guard by the spitting bats a couple of times.
  • The boss felt a bit too easy. A couple more attacks to spice things up would be nice. Maybe he could throw a grenade or a molotov at you? It would still be easy to dodge, but would spice the battle a bit.
  • Red barrel explosion area is WAY too high, I got almost killed the first time lol

Other than that - great stuff, man, keep it up!

Thanks for playing the game brimstone! :) I've really appreciate the feedback, and I'm glad you liked it! I'm working on updating the game with fixes to some of the concerns: 

Water will hurt you over time, but you can kinda swim in it a little bit, allowing you to recover before dying.

I'll bring the camera back a bit and shooting monsters will only be allowed to shoot if on-screen.

Add a melee attack and a charge attack to the boss, and fix the ability to stun lock him.

Explosive barrels will have a much more sensible radius of damage. Instead of doing a set number of damage, damage will be reduced over distance, so you take much less damage the further you are, but can still die if standing next to an explosion. Also, cars will be explodable too. :)
