Well. Well, fuck uh LMAO.
Since Tabby clearly isn't interested in sticking around for more than a meal, it's not so bad to adopt Flea lol. We bought some clothes for him, gave him a phone, we FEED him... Guess he's ours now <3 Since Mommy Lust just effectively disowned him </3
Ugh, and after everything they went through my stoic, emotionally stunted, STUPID hunter's first response after standing in silence with him after he'd gotten permanent banishment was "At least you're alive" as if she didn't literally LEAP onto the Wraith's back and, if i had the option for it, would've gotten her teeth in him for Flea's honor! And then she FUMBLED -throws table-i mean i know /why/ but it still sucks. their relationship is still tenuous. flea never got to tell Mc about all this stuff about him, it was forcefully revealed, and Mc debatably, can choose now to tell him about their dead family. Offering comfort isn't an option right now.
I was so shocked Wraith actually died. I thought for sure there would be choices somehow that would lead to Wraith maimed, or subdued, or dead, same as with Sandy (which i had not realized there was a chance she could die!) or at least, that he'd stick around longer as a part of a widening cast, not die in the same chapter he was introduced! When i picked "just talk things out" i really thought for sure it was gonna work because they did, and then Flea took Mc priority over Wraith, which seriously pissed him off. He really didn't like being overlooked huh? Daddy dearest never gave him any attention and it's caused a serious inferiority complex.
In the end, neither of them got to go home...
I'm also really loving Mc's helplessness being addressed here. i mentioned before in the very first chapter, i loved how Mc was just an ordinary person, who had a touch with the supernatural. it doesn't make them special, just more aware than the average person that there was more to the world than met the eye. their proclamation to flea at their first meeting feels like mockery. it's a sham. they're no hunter at all, at every real confrontation between the supernatural that became violent, Mc has had Flea with them as backup, they need flea more than flea needs them.
in which case, when it comes down to it, do they really have what it takes to find and confront their family's killer? and where will flea and Mc go from here, now that flea will never leave the human plane? thoughts to ponder
highlights: poor flea, realizing what eggs are. would it be better to tell him, they're not fertilized?
helping rachel escape her abusive boyfriend was really nice
ugh the state of flea's butter body after he hit the floor (i chose for Mc to trip him) all the dust and lint and debris that was on the floor??? -shudder- gross.
before Wraith showed up, flea had changed his mind about going out, and just wanted to have 'dinner' with us, was that just an excuse to spend time together? He knew his time was nearly up, did he want to be with Mc for as much as he can? If so, aw.
