Wow, what a cliffhanger. Flea /really/ didn't want to get any more involved in this after the junkyard. There must be a higher force behind this that he doesn't want to fuck with, and that's why he picked a fight. I can't quite tell if it was calculated so he could have a reason to storm out (which is fair) or simply, his true feelings of the matter coming out. To be fair, Flea doesn't feel calculating exactly, just...overwhelmed perhaps.  Sure, it was fine when it was just information that Mc wanted but soon as there were bodies involved, Flea immediately dipped. And the thing is I don't exactly blame him either! There's no true leverage MC has over him, other than an empty stomach if he strikes out, and he's managed this long without a consistent food supply. There's a lot more risk for him to involve himself than not. From what we got this chapter, Flea isn't exactly high on the food chain, he's not powerful. He doesn't have influence or connections, not even a place to live. He's just trying to get by, he has no stakes in any of it. He's just a guy, in as much as an Incubus can be just a guy, same as Mc.

Still, he didn't pull his punches, those remarks were vicious, I kinda like it. Flea's kind of made it clear he's not a fighter, and he's not picky about his partners as long as he's fed. Savvy but also not someone who will risk himself unnecessarily.  so now he's gone.

That leaves Mc with J, who is a devil who can work whatever magic to give exactly what Mc wants on a silver platter. Mc doesn't exactly have options to refuse outright without hearing more. All it depends on is how desperate they are to achieve their goals.

That aside, Flea's demeanor while he was at Mc's apartment right before the fight was quite cute. A bit of a needy pest, but isn't any stray? Has he never interacted with animals much? He seemed surprised by Tabby's behavior (tragedy that she didn't like me....i feed you every day and this is what i get?? smh)  It feels like his social life begins and ends with him getting his meal for the day and then leaving. He had companions with him when Mc went to go get him at the club, but idk, i get the feeling that they're more like party friends. A means to an end. A bit of shallow fun but not people he can really rely on.

I wonder what it'll take for him to get back on board with Mc's agenda

Not only is it delightful for me to get such in-depth, developing thoughts as you play, but you’re so insightful and really engaging with the story. I feel like Flea can’t get too much past you! ;-) Thank you so much for sharing your experience, and I hope you continue to enjoy. <3
