I really enjoyed the sandbox element of this game! The gameplay & controls seem straightforward at first - but then the player builds their own challenge to clear. There are a lot of different placeables, which especially surprised me.

The sketch style adds some fun personality, and the music & audio is enjoyable all around. I like the way that quick audio settings were put right into the main menu, which makes for an easy way to quickly balance it on the player's side.

The balance aspect of this is also quite interesting. Things can be made into a challenge, a leisurely stroll to get to the goal eventually, or somewhere in between. I can see this game getting speedran, too, in an attempt to optimize.

Overall, it's a very fun concept with excellent execution. Your team did incredible work on this jam game!

Absolute Shinmy destruction.

I had fun challenging myself and seeing what all the puppets did. No complaints here, though I found it a bit odd that Shinmy disappears on contact since other stage hazards stay after they apply their effect.

Thanks for playing! Shinmy is an one-time-use similiar to Mike since they are not really hazards and are helpful gimmicks. Balancing-wise I think it would be op to have her in every round, but maybe I'm wrong.

do i look like i know hwat an ultimate chicken horse is

despite the fact that i have NO idea what the inspiration for this game is like, holy shit it is so fun. kinda hard to get into at first since there’s no real tutorial, but it feels really smooth once you do. might actually be one of those games where having TOO much of a tutorial is a bad thing, i like how you’re forced to experiment with the dolls to figure out what they do and how they interact. platforming is also very solid, which is generally a good thing for games focused entirely on platforming. kinda reminds me of IWBTG (this is a VERY good thing) with all the insane bullshit going on once you’re late into each stage.

in terms of negatives, there aren’t really many besides the lack of a tutorial! it’s not super hard to cheese, but something something cheaters only cheat themselves. obv not anything in terms of story, but it doesn’t really need one. absolutely LOVE the art by the way, such a charming style!

anyway endless mode when

Funny that you mention IWBTG, because I actually came from the IWBTG community and made LOTS of known fangames over the years. Probably explains my knowledge how to make smooth platformers. Also, (assuming after the jam ends? idk how the rules are about updating the game during jam), I've planned to make a tiny update with some stuff + will include an endless mode. Thanks for playing!

you can update your game during the jam if you keep the original jam build separate and make it very clear that the current version is the new updated one

also you're welcome lol it was a great time

This is one of my favorite ones I've played so far. Remixing Ultimate Chicken Horse into a single player game is a fantastic idea that fits the theme well, and I love how you could either choose to challenge yourself on purpose, or try to make the level as easy as possible.

Glad you enjoyed!

It's Ultimate Chicken Horse! Other than the effects of the various characters are unclear when you see them for the first time, and how I didn't realize you only had to add 1 character between levels, I got no complaint. The platformer controllers were clean, and the game is pretty fun overall.

Glad to hear! Thanks for playing!

I agree, the hint for the 1-minimum placement needs to be more clear, that's for sure.
