is posting lots of "updates", probably harmful.

That account has already been disabled for spam, but thanks!

When I wrote, the account was very active, posting every 3 minutes.

Wrting here was the best I came up with. Had there been better methods?

Unfortunately no. You have to e-mail support.

Every comment has a report button.

Is that not doing what it is written on the tin?

Comments do, but blog posts don't. These are people who use the new account-wide blogging system for spam, apparently.

There is a new blog posting feature? If you talk about unattached blog posts, those are used for posting fake announcements with links to malware. yes, but that's been going on for quite a while, so I would not call that feature new.

Anyway, the "updates" OP complained about are regular comments. The scam message is promising an update. I posted two examples in another thread

Yes, those. It was one of the last big features added to the site. And yes, it's been used for spam almost from the start. It's still news to plenty of people, understandably so.

I first encountered them via a search on regular search engine.

But back to the spam comments. Hitting the report button is enough for those? Because OP was talking about those and you replied that an email to support would be necessary. To which I asked if the report button is not enough.

Maybe clear that up, to avoid unnecessary mails to support.

...Comments have a report button. Devlog posts don't! The original post complains about this person posting updates. It's right there in the title.

You might not have read the actual spam comments. They read like below. They are under a game and promise an updated version. Some have official sounding names. Older comments read like "new version here" or similar.

Game has been updated!

The new version is now available here → https://www.patreon.com/file? ...  xxxxx- (⚠️Download only from this link! The link has been verified!⚠️)

⚠️ !!! Be careful — there are scam pages pretending to be official. Always double-check the link !!! ⚠️

⚠️ At the moment, itch.io is under attack from scam and malware bots, so always check what you download and where it comes from. This is very important! ⚠️

Game has been updated!

Updated version is here → https://www.patreon.com/file?xxxxx

Please download only from official links (like this one) to make sure you get the correct and safe version.

Sorry, my mistake. The "update" messages were in the comments. And now I see, I could have hit "report". Thanks, redonihunter.

Speaking of which, browing the "Most Recent" game assets right now, someone is posting projects one after another, dozens of them, really.

Few days ago, it was +70 projects in a row (same user), how is it even possible ?
Is there nothing to prevent excessive uploads?

Moderator(+2)

There should be. Please report one of those projects using the little link in its page footer. Thanks.
