I know I said it didn't want to launch, and that's true. I'm not sure why but the game doesn't work under WINE in Linux or on Windows 8.1. I know this is very niche but all of the others do just fine. I was finally able to get my desktop with Windows 10 and it started up just fine. I know you have no control over that but its something to keep in mind.

I'll be able to rate it today but in the meantime, here is a gameplay video! I really enjoyed it tbh! I think this one deserves to be in the top 3 for sure! Also, yes, I did go into the garden off of the recording.

man I don't make the engine and they make it for windows, but thanks for trying it I guess! If the engine supported linux shenanigans I would check for that but you're asking too much! I decided to get vlad out of the jam, I can see the game wasn't being rated and this one interaction was the last kick! I'll still look forward to what anyone is doing tho since I fukin adore video games and suffering

What? Dude, you probably would have won!
I thought my game wasn’t being rated either but the ‘Submissions in need of ratings’ page only shows games that you haven’t rated.
If you rated all the other games you’ll only see your game in that list, because you can’t rate your own game.
If you open that page in an incognito window though you’ll see the actual vote counts for each game.

you can see how many people rated the games in the top right! No, if no one rates you just can't win! This needs a system that forces people to rate lol it's fine tho there's no need to make a big deal about this we'll have more opportunities in the future hehe

I’m pretty sure that’s the number of ratings, not the number of people who rated the games.
And I thought it doesn’t matter how many people rated your game, just what the average rating is?
Maybe I’m wrong about that.

It’s just a shame to see you drop out of the jam because this one was my personal favourite!
I would have bet money on either this or homonculus winning. Both were very closely matched in my opinion, but this one felt a little bit more polished.

There's some math to do to understand lol but yeah if we are the jury and half of them don't rate you have a problem! In one hand imagine I could have just one person rate my game 5 stars everything and it would "win"(itch.io doesn't work like that)! So it is still unfair if I win with half the ratings, the only fair way to participate is if everyone rates! Or if there's a jury it would be fair :v there's no "punishment" for not rating lol also the technical issues, if someone decides to not play (and so not rate) a game since EFPSE games get flagged as a virus or like this situation where my game wouldn't run emulated on linux! Those are issues that game devs can't do anything about! It bothers that I "risked" my pc when other people just won't play and can't rate or just won't rate! I think these are things that can be taken into account for the next time? I'll try to share these "concerns" with Mike if I'm allowed to participate in another one lol I won't be an outsider the next time... It's all a fine

Yeah, I think having a small team of judges would be the most fair option for a future jam.

I agree, I think for the next jam I'll definitely have a panel of judges, it's unfortunate that people didn't rate and play all the games, I asked nicely many times but there was quite a lack of votes. Sorry guys, it was my first game jam so I'm still learning how to do it properly :')

I don't know how itchs jam system works, it might not be possible to configure a jury and let the system define the winner including the jury's vote! It might not be that crazy for games to be pulled out of jams too, I imagine this could happen in any jam :v but for now lets see who won today lml

That's a shame man. I was just letting you know that there was something going on with the build that wouldn't let it work outside of Windows 10 or 11. I mainly was just trying to see what version you used or if you tinkered with it. It was just for research purposes. The game was fire. It was nothing to do with the contents of it. I really just wanted to help you going forward and maybe be able to help others.
