I don't think so. I think it's a very good ending, kinda open, but enough to have an enclosure.

The world is big enough for different stories but without the main draw of incomprehensible demons .. if there was a sequel, alex would probably be the main villain in a world controlled by eldritch laws after his mind was twisted by hundreds of years of immortality or something like that
