The actual idea of a platformer where you are swapping between 2 different versions of the level is legitimatly a very good idea.

I understand that you're aware of the difficulty issue so i won't say much on the matter, but it is a shame because i would have loved to have seen more of it! Hopefully playtesting with others is high up on your list for next time! (hmu if you need strangers to test!)

Now! Besides that, like i said i think the idea is genuinely very good and the atmospherics/artwork and the storytelling i was able to see were very nice.

Honestly, think you've done a good job for your first jam. Nice work!

Thanks!! Yeah, that darn difficulty. I definitely underestimated the importance of other people play testing. This will be a high priority for my next jam. I want to be sure to be respectful of people's time. When someone is going through and playing potentially hundreds of different games, I can't expect them to sit down and grind out my difficult level for 30+ minutes. I can speak on that from experience now. When I am playing through these games and one of them frustrates me and feels like I'm getting nowhere because it's too hard, I don't want to keep doing it. I want to move on to the next one. There are certainly people that will do that, and games like Jump King, Getting Over It, etc. are made for them, but that is a very small niche.
