The latest version (.55 as of today) is being flagged by Windows as a trojan.

Same here.

Hi there, I have just pushed out v0.56, let me know if it works. I didn't change anything so if it works it might be that the previous version is a false positive as it's the same build but with new content

Yep, same thing.

"Trojan:Script/Wacatac.B!ml" is what Windows is identifying it as.

Very likely a false positive, but I obviously have no idea how to correct it.

Copy pasting from my other response. But either way it was reported that v0.56.1 doesn't have the issue, so you can try that out.

From my other post: To be absolutely certain and treat this seriously, I ran the previous version (v0.55) as well as v0.56 through VirusTotal, an anti-virus scanner.

On VirusTotal, 0 out of 62 security vendors have flagged anything malicious, so it appears to be a false positive flagged by Microsoft Defender. Attached the results below:

A player also very helpfully dig some digging for me and sent me this from reddit which I will also attach here:

TLDR:

It’s a false positive triggered by Defender’s AI pattern matching, not a confirmed infection.

Hi let me check this out - I haven't changed my build process and there were no major changes so it seems like a false positive (I did have a Windows Update but that's about it) - I'll push out v56 shortly and see if anything's changed!

Update: just pushed out v0.56, let me know if it works. I didn't change anything so if it works it might be that the previous version is a false positive as it's the same build but with new content

A trojan with a 10k price tag? hmm...

Hi there, I've already verified this with VirusTotal, you can check the other comment - it is a false positive by Windows Defender and you can google the exact error itself or check reddit threads that confirm that it is a false positive.

As for price tag, this was already explained in a previous announcement as well as a comment here. The game is moving onto Steam so I wanted to temporarily disable new purchases while allowing older users who had purchased the game to continue get access to updates - I have sent an email to itch.io to do this but there hasn't been a response in two days so for now the less elegant solution is to set it to a maximum price to prevent that.

I read both of those. It was sarcasm.

Ah okay haha! My sarcasm detector was faulty and didn't catch it XD, cool :)
