Weeping Angels type jam entry! For your first GWJ entry, this is amazing. I have some gripes with the pacing (I felt like it was punishingly slow at parts for how limited the vision cone was), but I did appreciate how limited your vision was. And I felt genuine dread when the sound effect of the enemies started.
I think you've got a really awesome entry here and you should be stoked with it!
Escaping the museum was a great concept! Also graphics were great first time I saw the statue it was genuinely horrifying. Gameplay could have used a bit more polish but beyond that great work! Expesially on the overall atmosphere
Well done on a scary trip to the museum - I felt you channelled weeping angels well... the first statue/mask made me jump. Loved the art work and atmosphere that you created.
That was an unnerving experience. I didn’t feel in control at any point. Sometimes I’d hear the statues and just swing my flashlight around frantically to no avail. I didn’t know you could create that kind of feeling in a 2D game. Very well done, extra points for originality and for trying something outside the box. Great job!
You did a great job of conveying the atmosphere and sense of tension, the mechanics of moving statues in the dark fit perfectly here.
However, I had issues with the destruction of statues on E - at first I thought it was a bug and that it didn't work, as there is no visual feedback.
Also, I hoped to see upgrades for the flashlight scattered across the map. I reached the large mask, where it turned out that I had to backtrack, at that point I was lost in the museum.
In any case, thanks for the solid entry!
Hey! Super interesting submission! Really liked the whole weeping angels vibe of it! The sound is super on point as well!
Keep it up :D
Pretty good for a first try. I didn’t fully get how to survive the enemies yet. You should also work on proper lighting — there’s a PointLight2D you can use for a flashlight, and set up a LightOccluder2D so light renders correctly. Right now it just goes through walls.
