I think the game has a very nice aesthetic. The choice to make most things in the game animate at a lower FPS is very unique; it gives everything a stop-motion-like feel. The "characters" (the manikins) themselves give me a 90s CG vibe, which I really dig. 90s CG is one of my favorite aesthetics, and I also love trains, so I think it’s a very cool environment.
That said, I think the game needs more work in terms of player guidance and visibility. At the beginning, I was a bit stuck on what I was supposed to do, so I was just walking around in circles until I realized there was a book on a seat. I think if the attendant had said something like “Please take your seat with the others!” I would’ve stayed in that area and found the book more quickly. After getting the book, you receive a key, but I think the key should either be automatically given to the player or make a sound when it drops, because I didn’t notice that I had missed it at first.
Some of the environments are also quite dark. Of course, the flashlight helps with that, but even the flashlight itself is located in a dark spot, which can make it tricky to find.
Either way, I did finish the game and I really like its style. I just think improvements could definitely be made in terms of guiding the player better and improving visibility, or at least designing the environment in a way that naturally draws the player toward important objects.
