Very nice visuals. Super catchy music that only got better the longer I listened to it.

But the gameplay really surprised me. At first all I saw was a short single-screen arcade game. However, two twists:

1) The upgrade system is full of interesting choices.

2) The use of the currency as ammunition makes for some key decisions during the action round. Is it more advantageous to take a hit, rather than sacrifice a pumpkin? What if I line up two skulls in a row, would it be worth it then

One small bug--when the same sound effect plays multiple times simultaneously, it wigs out a little. This happens if you drop 4-5 pumpkins into the cauldron at once.

Thank you for your kind words, it really means a lot to me that you had a fun time playing my game and that you got surprised and had to adjust the first idea you had about it. I’ll look into fixing that bug you mentioned for the post gamejam version.

Quick question, what did you use to make your visual assets? I don't usually work in 3D but I'm curious. They look really good.

The models as well as the animations is all Blender (version 2.79b, i know it’s an old version but i stick to it because i love the layout and it is the last version that included the Blender Game Engine, which is what i started with learning game development :D)

Thanks! I spent a month or so learning Blender a couple of years ago, but I haven't touched it in a while.

Yeah it has a very steep learning curve and because there is so much you can do with it it’s not easy focussing on just modeling, texturing and animations and i just got distracted all the time :D Took me years to get the hang of it and be able to create something i was really happy with!

I usually prefer to work in pixel art, but I did make a 3D game once. The assets are pretty simple, but I made them all:
