Works!
The game is really cool, the ambiance of it and the gloomines is really well done, the fog revealing the enemies eyes is also quite nice. But the enemies have quite a bad ai, they are faster than you but turn slower and stop chasing you after like 5 seconds so it just run in a circle for 5 seconds and continue my way, the chase music is also very scary. I walked trough the oceans and visited the big rocks! It got quite lost. The lantern glitching into stuff was quite funny.
As far as the soundesign goes, its solid, but the crows are way too loud, the chords could have been a bit more in the background, behind a dark drone or something. More reverb in the mountain area would have made it so much better and immersive, its quite simple to setup in unity aswell (reverb zones)!
The game would be much scarier if the enemy encounter was alot more controlled and had some tension built beforehand, and less slowly roaming around and not being to detect the player once it is behind them. And being seen was quite low stakes since I could just run in a circle to avoid the enemy (The player will always play your game the way you did not intend lol). It just stopping after 5 seconds felt quite cheap and not so scary, it's very hard to balance thease chase sequences cause you want it to be hard to outrun but still not have a faster core speed than the player to make it fair.
Besides the AI, the game is really well put together, the graphics are stunning for a jam game.
For 3 days, this is an amazing submission, goodjob.
Also this does not regard anything with game design and is just a side note, the game size is quite big for how small of a game it is, you should deffinetly look into optimizing your games size
Thanks a lot for the feedback! Yeah it's myfirst time making a game with this kind of mechanics. I definitely didn't mean for the AI to feel so cheap but I opted for non frustrating where I could (perhaps a bit too much). I plan to make an updated version of this with more polished mechanics and sound design and I'll be taking what you said into consideration. Thanks so much for playing it!
