The RPG Maker tutorial probably the closest to this (and RPG Maker is pretty easy to learn. It doesn't really use code the way Godot or Renpy. Easy engine to understand)

Also, the ones from above- I am pretty sure they use Unity. There are dollmaker templates for Unity surely, but it's an engine I'm unfamiliar with. There are other dollmakers on the app store that use Unity too and some around Itchio which is why I recognize them. I can't recommend it or anything, but possible starting place.

There's also more renpy templates out there surely that do this. I didn't add a lot to the page. I found this one quickly (Komi's Salon), and I am sure there's more because the Renpy community is gigantic. Obviously you'd have to change the UI though. UI stuff gets a bit tricky when you cannot code very well with Renpy in particular, but I don't think it's very hard either.

What engines do you own (or there any you are interested in using?

aaa that helps a lot thank u!

i do have a few versions of RPGmaker, i also have godot and renpy! no engines in particular that im thinking of, i did try to look for some unity tutorials and basically all i managed to find was ppl saying “why would you make a dress up game in unity” HFJDJXJFJ. maybe im just not getting very good search results though :’)

ill probably do my best w renpy or rpgmaker, thank u for the response!

Of course! I personally recommend RPG Maker for this particular thing. The tutorial should be transferable to multiple versions of it. Renpy is fine but the HTML5 builds are not nearly as good as RPG Makers. c: Also the kind of dollmaker you want can easily work with the RPG Maker grid ^w^ But ofc like, Renpy template will make things easier.

Good luck!!
