So the source code you made available can be ported to the 3DS via devkitPro?
I want to do minor homebrew development too and I am searching for a good source for learning. Do you have any tips for writeups, tutorials or in-depth explanations?

There's the source of Python 2.7-based One Whale Trip for 3DS available here: one whale trip 3ds port (git history) (note the current HEAD of that Git repo doesn't contain 3DS code anymore).
