Nah, it ain't that bad, once you learn few tricks here and there how to avoid those wonky controls.

But yeah, devs primary platform he's developing the game for is in fact Windows, so it works neatly.

I know, but it's not the purpose of controls to find a few tricks to work around them cause they are wonky. At least not in most games. For the most part you just need better visualization, hitboxes, and a way to cancel actions (dunno if that's even possible for Windows)
