Thank you for sharing your system! I really like the idea of having a dream-game right before sleep. In fact, that's kind of what Im doing already (especially after playing RPG it happens automatically in my head before sleeping), but having a system sounds like a fun idea.

That being said, I think your PDF needs a lot more explanation. Please don't take this as an attack, I just want to share some questions which might be helpful to improve the game:

What exactly is the Calendar Cypher?

If Im understanding it correctly, the Calendar Cypher is always the ordinal number of the date, right? So on the 1st of october, the Cypher would be 1, on the 2nd of November the Calendar Cypher is 2, etc. (It doesnt change if its a different month/year). Or  is the Cypher the ordinal number of todays date + the calculation you're using in order to get a rolling mechanism? In the PDF it looks like you are using the same term ("Calendar Cypher") for two things.

Whats the order in which you play the game?

I think it would be very helpful if you could write down a page of a play.

How do you keep track of everything? For me, the multiple numbers (Stats, Fate Points, Harm Limit) sound a bit too much, especially if Im in the middle of falling asleep.. :)

Thank you for this incredibly helpful feedback! You've pinpointed the exact areas that need clarification. I'm currently reworking the entire system and layout to address these points.

To answer your question directly: in the original version, the "Calendar Cypher" was indeed just the day-of-the-month number (e.g., 5 for Oct 5th), which you then used in the calculation to get your final roll. Your confusion is completely valid, and the terminology will be much clearer in the next version.

The new structure will feature a much simpler core ruleset. I've just released a "Theater of Mind" version that strips away the stat tracking for a purely narrative focus, and the "Calendar Cypher" will be refined as a separate edition for those who want that specific kind of randomness.

Your insights are invaluable, thank you for sharing them
