Was fun. Nice mechanics. Having to go all the way back to the start after each explosion was a bit annoying. Maybe I was doing something wrong. Good job.

As for respawning back to the start, it's all about balancing between choosing checkpoints, lives, and gems at the item boxes.
Admittedly, perhaps I should have one or two "mandatory" checkpoints.
