A short, straightforward game with a big helping of creativity - I like games like this.

I don't fully get the choice of lines, but poetry isn't really my strong suit, so take the criticism with a grain of salt.

Having the "click to grow" prompt on the screen while the scrolling text went by felt a bit misleading, and while the scrolling is an artistic touch I felt like it was kinda lacking. But then again, this is a jam game made with very little time, so it being rough isn't a big deal.

I loved everything else about this: clicking the flower image to make the plant grow, the subtle music that changes as the plant grows, the cursor images, even the little animated picture touches.

It's a simple, sublime, and heartfelt game. Good job, Chevie!

ahh thank you for this Kv! And thanks for giving it a go! This is good and helpful feedback. Definitely if I had more time I agree I wish I had done something more dynamic with the poem lines. And I was so scared of breaking my button image that I didn’t want to erase it repeatedly haha. But it was a really cool exercises to see what i felt able to do in a few days. Especially all the little UI tricks I’ve learned over the last year. It’s such a small thing but I feel very proud I erased the continue option on the main menu lol 😂

And ur comment reminds me I should rly post a full version of the poem in the game description as it prob reads better as a whole poem instead of line by line. Thanks again for writing up such a nice comment 🫶
