I really cannot understand why this game didnt do better, can only think the large download put some people off (I know how that feels). Certainly one of my favourites, it really did deserve better. Anyway I truly hope that doesn't put you off this could be an amazing game. I don't envy you the level design mind.
Though about it. It's not the size, exe, Unreal or anything like that. We are game devs. We are afraid of hot dates :) We came second I think by raw score on how it looks though which is practically the best as we could comparing to the competition :)
Thank you for your kind words. Means a lot. Congratz on your entry as well.
Will see if we'll ever continue with this one. Maybe with some variety of it. Got some other projects that need to be finished first.
Beautiful little game, altough I don’t think it fits the theme… .. and… the time controls are too sensitive :)
The game's look is beautiful and the sound is on point and pleasant. I didn't play too much of the game yet, because the in-game menu forces me to either restart the game or quit it, but I will give it another try later.
I don't think the game fits the theme or has an educational value. It feels like that this game was made for something else and then refitted to the game jam, which gives me a negative bias.
Yeah there seems to be a bug in the menu. Thanks for pointing that out.
As for the the theme goes... The weather is a part of the nature. But maybe you're right on this. Should be fighting the nature, not using it for his own benefit. Same goes for education. Maybe solar panels and windmill making electricity are not enough, Didn't have time to make more mechanics though.
I started with a blank project and an idea for it on day 2 or 3 of the jam and I can prove it. Besides IRL problems I worked hard to make it on time with as little bugs as possible. Not gonna lie. I'm dissapointed with you practically accusing me and also my teammate of cheating. Then again... Your words are flattering if you don't think this can be done in 2 weeks.
Thanks for the review
My bad, I actually want to genuinely apologise for the harsh accusation against you and your teammate. I've digged into your game production and now I feel embarassed to have had a shallow bias about your entry here. But you're right, the game is assembled so good that I probably couldn't believe that this was done in the two given weeks. If anything, you can take out of the comment that one person felt like that. My guess about myself is that the theme correlation was subtle or not too explicit.
Anyway, I hope you can accept my apologies, reading my own comment makes me feel uncomfortable
Don't worry about it. It's water under the bridge now :) Take care
Not sure why this game has so few ratings it is easily one of the best games in the Jam. Really nice graphics, some great puzzles, excellent lighting and materials. Just wish there was more to it. Would love to see more added to this game. Well done on a great looking entry.
Large file size, exe file, no marketing. It's totally understandable though. Can't blame people for not trying. Appreciate the kind words. Will think about making more... maybe someday.
Took me time (..) to get it.. but once I figured it out, I loved it. Really well executed concept.
I think an in-browser version would be more appealing to other jammers (..just because jam), but I'm glad I took the time to download and play it.
The swimming pool confused me but then I remembered to look at the UI for clues.. very nice (I didn't see the hints on the Itch page till now). Really liked the heart-shaped tree - nice touch :)
Not gonna lie, the story was.. weird to me - but (but) - I understand the necessity for a reason for the game. And it kind worked :) (nice tip-of-the-hat regarding the games the kids might play)
The graphics (models / textures / characters / animation, etc) were really nice. The sound effects were on point. The music was pretty, and it was well placed. Puzzles were very interesting. I would really really like to play more, it was over far too quickly.
Really liked this. Really well done.
Thank you for your review. Means a lot to me. Glad you enjoyed it.
What a brilliant little game and clever mechanic of being able to control time and the weather to solve puzzles. The game looks fab, backgrounds are beautiful and main character really nicely animated and the whole game feels polished and professional. My only complaint is that it was over too quickly. You really should finish this game I can see it being very popular. This left me wanting more.
Thank you for your your kind word kind sir. Wanted to do an outro monologue on how it all ended with the girl, but luckily my SO was there to stop me. I would probably ruin everything with that :) Maybe I'll think about making some better polished mini series. Maybe not. WIll see.
