are you using the latest version of the game? There's one version that has engine error after we upgraded the engine, but we've downgraded to avoid it since then.
Not very sure about the problem, I've not received other similar reports and my pc runs well. Maybe try using an older save? If the problem still persist, I'll let you know if there's a fix for it in the future.
