It was well done. I couldn't find the other tools, if they're available yet but it was fun going around picking plants.
North of the farm is a shop called, "Herbert's Herbs". Talk to the man on the left inside, open the Tools option in his speech window. From there, you'll buy either the Axe for 850g or whichever other one you'd want at that time.
Be sure to "click into" the "Buy" section.
