I’ve got something: I am in awe of composers who can write both music and lyrics within the timeframe of this jam! Not only that, but the lyrics are awesome! I totally get that villain musical theater sound of the first track. It reminds me of the song El tango de Roxanne from Moulin Rouge with the dark undertones. The emotion you put into these vocals is infectious, in particular the line “must do what I must do.” I can tell you were in the zone and in character here. Nice work!
New York: This is really creative diegetic-style music. I can imagine this playing in a restaurant and it would work really well in that setting in a game. I love the guitar solo and the scatting in particular on this track!
U&I: Those initial piano rolls are really quite beautiful. And then the guitar is so well-recorded and well-performed. Once again, these lyrics are so good! These sound like classic standards. Oh, very nice, when all the instruments enter and the maraca enters, it adds just the right amount of spiciness that makes this final track sparkle in my mind and makes it my favorite of the group! Oh wow, that chord at 2:39 is soooo beautiful. What are those 3 chords from 2:37-2:40?
Overall: Once again, I am so in awe of what you were able to accomplish in such a short amount of time. This is such a creative take on the theme and I think you did a great job executing it. I think that overall the highlights for me were the lyrics on the first and third tracks in particular, the guitar playing (especially in the third track), and that one chord at 2:39 in the third track. Great job and thank you for sharing!
